Move-out Checklist

Notice of Intent to Vacate

Planning to move out of your rental home? Please refer to the terms and conditions outlined in your lease. You'll need to provide us with written notice of your intent to vacate.

Property Condition

Before you hand in the keys for your rental home, it's important to bring the rental back to rent-ready condition. This involves the following:

Rental Cleaning:

  1. Declutter: Dispose of items you won't take with you and throw out all trash.
  2. Dust and Wipe: Dust all surfaces, including shelves, countertops, and light fixtures. Wipe down appliances, cabinets, and switches.
  3. Clean Appliances: Clean the oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher inside-out.
  4. Floor Care: Vacuum and mop all floors. Address any stains or marks. All carpets should be vacuumed.
  5. Bathroom: Scrub toilets, sinks, and tubs. Clean mirrors and wipe down tiles.
  6. Windows and Blinds: Wash windows and clean blinds or curtains.
  7. Final Check: Walk through to ensure nothing's missed. This diligence can help ensure a smooth move-out process and potential security deposit return.

Landscaping

If you typically handle lawn care like mowing, weeding, etc., please take care of these tasks once more before you move out. Please also replace any lightbulbs outside your rental home.

Repairs

If any damage occurred during your stay with us, please take the measures necessary to address any associated repairs. This includes patching nail and screw holes, repainting stained walls, and replacing any broken glass.

Security Deposit

We will perform a final inspection after your departure, checking for any new damage. If we identify any issues, we will schedule repairs. Related expenses will be deducted from your deposit.

The remainder will be returned to you with an itemized statement.

Please remember, you cannot use your deposit to cover your last month's rent. Failure to pay your rent on time will result in late fees, adverse credit reporting, and potential legal action.
